Cargo community system

Suvon provides maintenance and support for a number of Cargo Community Systems in Asia.

These Cargo Community Systems provide switching, translation and routing functions for the Cargo community. The system allows stakeholders in the cargo transportation industry to conduct business with each other quickly and efficiently, using a range of message formats including various forms of Cargo-IMP or the latest electronic data interchange (EDI) represented by Cargo-Fact messages. Freight forwarders and consolidators can check on space availability, make bookings, and track their freight instantaneously from their own in-house system. Air waybill generation and air manifest delivery to customs are supported by this system.

In Japan, the traditional cargo community system is further extended by providing an electronic commerce gateway, with the inclusion of e-mail and FTP facilities in addition to an Internet interface to the cargo community.

Suvon employees have worked on further extensions to the cargo community system by adding a cargo portal. A cargo portal offers additional web based functions such as cargo space auctioning, cargo-related news feeds and cargo community forums.
