Who are we?

Graham Bombell

Graham’s career in Information Technology spans 36 years with 22 years of management experience across six different companies. Suvon is his fourth company start-up. He has had Senior Management roles with Unisys, Bankers Trust, and Paxus Financial Systems. In 1989, Graham became Managing Director Asia Pacific for Novus Systems Pty Ltd, responsible for its establishment and development in the Australasia / Asia Pacific region. Novus was a Systems Integration Software house implementing large e-business / e-commerce projects in Travel, Transportation, Airports, Cargo, Government and Banking. Novus and its parent company was acquired by SITA in October 1993 and in 1998 the group was spun off as part of Equant Group listed on New York and Paris Stock Exchanges.

Don Stewart B.Sc.(Hons)

Don, our general manager, has probably the broadest skill and knowledge set of our group. He has over 27 years in the airline computing industry and has worked in technical, project management and office supervision areas. Since 1990 Don has been manager of the Novus and Equant technical teams responsible for the development, installation and support of Equant systems in Australia and Asia. The project management elements of this role covered allocating human and technical resources, controlling and monitoring activities of the Technical Department. On the office supervision side, Don was responsible for recruitment, training and deployment of staff.

Babak Attari B.Eng.(Hons)

For the past 11 years, Babak has worked exclusively in the airline reservation and cargo software system areas. In this field Babak has been involved in the design, implementation, delivery and ongoing support of a wide range of projects in such areas as departure control, cargo and EDIFACT for Novus and Equant. Under Babak’s expertise, these projects have been implemented under Stratus, Unix and Windows platforms. His most recent project was a team leader on a cargo system using J2EE design principles and BEA Weblogic’s Application Server and Commerce Server.

Martin Watkins B.Sc.(Hons)

Martin brings 11 years of computing experience to Suvon including 9 years in the travel and airline industry. Martin has experience in all aspects of the project lifecycle including sales support, project estimation, writing of functional specifications, design and architecture of appropriate solutions, infrastructure creation, team leadership during development, quality assurance, implementation and acceptance testing. Martin’s technical expertise includes knowledge of a wide range of databases, communications and messaging protocols, J2EE architecture and internet development software such as BEA Weblogic. His business knowledge covers airline passenger and cargo systems.

Yee Cheuk Lee

Yee Cheuk(YC) Lee is the chief communications and hardware expert at Suvon. He has 16 years computing experience with 15 years in the airline industry. Recently YC has been responsible for the operation of LANs, WANs, VPNs, security (firewalls), routers, load balancers, backup mechanisms, machine commissioning, comms and hardware configuration, and customer telehousing systems, including Ansett’s IATCI and Garuda’s Airport Link Facility systems. He has expertise in communication protocols such as P1024, 1024B, 1024C, AX25, X.25, X.3/X.28/X29 and message formats such as Type A, Type B, EDIFACT and CargoIMP.

Greg Nichelsen B.Bus.

Greg Nichelsen has more than 15 years experience in software development and processes in the travel and transportation industry. Greg started work as a TPF mainframe programmer and analyst at Qantas Airways. After five years at Qantas, he moved to Novus/Equant to assume the role of business architect. He has extensive project management experience, covering all aspects of the development cycle from analysis and specification to support. Greg’s projects included internet booking solutions to the airline and travel industry, outsourcing for E-commerce systems for business-to-business and business-to-consumer applications, detailed design of applications, customer requirement analysis and functional specification. Within Suvon, Greg is taking on a business development role to continue the group’s development for its customers in the Asia Pacific region.

Tania Humphreys MIM, B.Sc.

Tania has over 15 years experience in the airline computing industry with superior analyst, design and programming skills in various computing environments and an earned reputation for quality work and client support. In the past Tania has worked for Ansett Airlines, British Airways, Galileo, and Qantas as a TPF programmer for their Reservations and Departure Control Systems. Tania has designed and programmed internet systems using J2EE including JSP and EJB, HTML, JavaScript, Perl, CSS, XML and DHTML. She has further set up and maintained internet Web Servers. Tania also has a significant understanding of thru check-in via EDIFACT protocol messages.
